About the Hardware Platfom

The mission of the Champalimaud Foundation's Hardware Platform is to provide all kind of support in the electronic and mechanical field to support research at individual, group and program levels.

It provides the full pipeline of hardware development from requirement specification and analysis, design, development, implementation, validation procedures and test execution. It also handles diverse services, including 3D printing services, day-to-day support, training and management of both Electronic and Mechanical Workshops.

The Platform also aims to increase investigators efficiency by controlling costs and reducing redundant efforts.

Addressed areas:

  • Circuits design
  • Mechanical design
  • Automation

  • Robotics
  • Embedded systems
  • Scientific data acquisition

  • Assemblies
  • Precision machining
  • 3D printing

About the Champalimaud Research

Research is at the heart of the Champalimaud Foundation. We believe in the power of scientific discovery to help advance knowledge and develop solutions to challenging medical problems.

At Champalimaud Research, scientists and clinicians collaborate daily in areas ranging from basic science to patient care. We are a hub where some of the top minds meet to exchange ideas and give to society. At the core of Champalimaud Research, the Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme (CNP) and the Programme in the Biology of Systems and Metastasis (BSM) provide a home to an expansive and dynamic team of nearly 300 dedicated researchers from all over the world.

We share our work

The Hardware Platform supports open source developments and share the work done with the research community.

We share our expertise, techniques, tools and ideas with the hope that this website can inspire your next setup.

If you find any of this designs useful or have inspiration for new ones, feel free to contact us. We are able to provide the design files and/or the devices already assembled and ready to use.
